thanks for your interest in willis:concept+development, the professional website for nicholas willis,LEED GA.
my career expertise is in the project management, organization and development of buildings and interiors, but i also experiment with many design environments and enjoy merging my personal and professional life, creating my own projects in the disciplines of product design, fashion, graphics, and furniture. I'm open to inquiries for building and interior design services as well as for career positions. I encourage you to get in touch with me to experience the value i can bring to your project.
03.18.10: i'm suspending my current but infrequently updated blog while I explore ideas for a new blog on one of my favorite subjects, gentrification and transitioning neighborhoods. Stay tuned for an announcement for when the blog goes live.
in addition, I am working on adding residential and commercial photos from recent trips to sun valley, id and boston, ma to the picasa album. I should have them up sometime this month.
03.07.10: i was pleasantly surprised to learn recently that i passed my building systems exam. I had considered this exam to be the most difficult of the exams that i've taken. although i didn't intend for this "news" section to develop into a play-by-play of my exam status, there hasn't been much to report architecturally. hopefully this will change soon.
01.11.10: happy new year! I hope that 2010 brings everyone more confidence, stability, new work and growth than in the last couple years.
its been a while since i've had an update. the california architects board has been slow in posting results, but i'm happy to announce that i've passed two more exams-programming, planning, and practice, and site design. with just building systems and structural systems plus the oral exam left to go, i'm getting anxious to gain the recognition that it seems so many in this economic climate are seeking in their applicants.
12.14.09:i am now a LEED Green Associate.
11.06.09: the california supplemental exam is changing to a written format for 2011. if i can't wait until then to get licensed, i'll just have to get registered in colorado.
11.02.09: now that i’m on the path to licensure i was curious as to how many licensed architects there are out there. fortunately, ncarb just released a survey. unfortunately, they did not compare licensed number of architects to the total population. so for those that are interested, with a little help from Wikipedia (unscientific i know) i’ve compiled a list that shows percentages of architects per population in each of the states. You can see the chart here, and visit my blog for further comments.
10.13.09: i recently visited the eichler tracts of southern california. Click here to see my photos of the amazing houses in these neighborhoods.
